Carrie 2 can't understand why others are so opposed to wearing masks in public.

I think the way it’s been affecting my mental health the most, is really disappointment in public health and feeling excluded from spaces because I’m so petrified of getting sick again. I am so scared. And when the masks came off, I feel more frightened in indoor settings. I wear my N95 mask in indoor settings …
So I feel disappointed in public health and in spaces where I don’t feel safe to go anymore. I feel those who are disabled, or who could have untoward consequences from getting sick, have sort of been left behind and that makes me sad – sad and angry … I just wish that we could protect people and wear masks because they’re so easy to wear. I – out of everything that’s the thing that astonishes me, to be honest … I’m quite confident that if we wear masks properly, we won’t spread this. And it’s just a mask. I don’t understand why people are so opposed to protecting others and that it’s framed in such a way that, “Well if you’re really scared yourself, you should wear a mask.” So the person who doesn’t want to get sick, is excluded from society. I think that’s a real shame and it shouldn’t be that way. That is my gravest disappointment in all of this … public health was supposed to set guidelines to help us care for one another because we’re not quite capable of doing that for ourselves and they failed massively and that is gravely disappointing.
